Rosebud is a band of veteran musicians from the Bay Area and California Central Coast. Led by guitarist/singer/songwriter Scott Cooper, the band plays a mix of Grateful Dead and original music inspired by the Dead, as well as some Dylan, Beatles, Van Morrison, David Lindley, etc. Scott also plays in the China Cats, and has worked with Melvin Seals, Donna Godchaux, Stu Allen and others. His CD "A Leg Trick" reached #5 on the national jam band radio charts and his subsequent four other CDs continue to get radio airplay across the country. "He can write material worthy of the bands he loves," wrote New Orleans' Offbeat Magazine.
The band is grounded by the drumming of Mark Corsolini, formerly of Dark Star Orchestra and Melvin Seals' JGB. Lead guitarist Fred Rodriguez is an in-demand soloist who covers Garcia's parts without sacrificing his own tone and voice. Fred played in the popular trio Three-Legged Dawg along with bassist Andy Birchett. Lastly, keyboard player Lachlan "Citizen" Kane rounds out the band with his stellar vocal harmonies, honky tonk piano and signature plaid attire.
